Many people assume abuse means that physical violence is happening, but that’s not always the case!
You may be scared, angry and confused, but remember the abuse was in no way your fault. You can: If your partner does any of these things, you may be in an unhealthy or abusive relationship.
Abuse in relationships – including those between teenagers – can happen to men and boys, but it's much more likely to happen to women and girls. Physical abuse can include hitting, kicking, punching, slapping, pushing, and pressuring or forcing someone into sexual activity.
Emotional and verbal abuse involves a person: Talk to your child about what's OK and what's not in a relationship.
Verbal abuse may not cause physical damage, but it does cause emotional pain and scarring.
It can also lead to physical violence if the relationship continues on an unhealthy path.
